INTRODUCTION

The Hypothesis

This is the introduction to your project. It’s where you offer an overview of the main ideas you’ll be presenting. Begin by outlining the topic you’ve chosen, and then continue by explaining your specific point of view or argument. Your introduction is the hook to engage your audience so make sure yours is clear, concise and focused.

PROBLEM

At time while using the steam iron, there is a possibility of the steam leakage which can be easily ignored but can cause major accidents and even cause short circuits which may lead to greater inconvenience.

OUR SOLUTION

In the device everything shall be operated through Wi-Fi enabled module. The steam detector and the current detectors shall be arranged and placed in such a way that they are kept near to each other and shall send in alert messages when the environment faces a change and situations get out of hand.
For the steam sensor part, the sensor would be programmed in such a way that it would send in the alert message to the concerned authories (here, let us say the factory manager or the safety manager). This way the steamer could be switched off before things get out of hand and it will also prevent from people getting into accidents and getting steam burns. Here the bulb would light up in case the steam crosses the threshold and hence implying the surge of overflow.
For the current sensor, since the steam coming out also possess a high risk of contamination of nearby electric connections to come under the environment of high moisture. This will possess the threat of short circuits and hence big accidents and electric fire. For the notification part , a siren would buzz if things get out of hand notifying the person concerned.
So, by incorporating this device we can prevent steam burn, boiler accidents and fire caused by electrical circuit failure issues. Hence, creating a safer environment for the operators as well as the infrastructure.

DHT-11

DHT-11

Temperature and Humidity Sensor

The DHT11 is a basic, ultra low-cost digital temperature and humidity sensor. It uses a capacitive humidity sensor and a thermistor to measure the surrounding air, and spits out a digital signal on the data pin (no analog input pins needed). Its fairly simple to use, but requires careful timing to grab data.

NODE MCU

Micro-Controller Unit

The NodeMCU ESP8266 development board comes with the ESP-12E module containing ESP8266 chip having Tensilica Xtensa 32-bit LX106 RISC microprocessor. This microprocessor supports RTOS and operates at 80MHz to 160 MHz adjustable clock frequency. NodeMCU has 128 KB RAM and 4MB of Flash memory to store data and programs. Its high processing power with in-built Wi-Fi / Bluetooth and Deep Sleep Operating features make it ideal for IoT projects.

Final Run

Our IoT project is about a steam and current leakage detector.
It is a prototype which can be used in boiler in garment industry. We have used a current sensor and Temperature/Humidity sensor connnected to NodeMCU.
Coding is done on Arduino IDE along with Blynk App to get pop-up notification and E-mail whenever there's leakage in either Current or Steam.
And for physical notification there are buzzer for current leakage and LED for steam leakage
